The CHUGG Food Waste Treatment Plant plant at Navodaya School has been a highly impactful initiative, addressing both energy needs and waste management. It processes 25–35 kg of organic and food waste daily, maintained at pH 7–8 with minimal manpower, and generates gas sufficient for about an hour of cooking each day. Earlier, the school’s wet waste was sent to a piggery, but now it is effectively utilized for energy. The principal shared very positive feedback, highlighting its role in sustainable waste management, energy use, and as a live demonstration for students on renewable energy and conservation.
